To London!

Warner Brothers Tour

Now that the Harry Potter movies are over, it’s no surprise that Warner Brothers has decided to open Leavesden Studios to the public next year. When they announced it a month or so ago, I was very excited!

I’d already taken a picture at Platform 9¾ in London’s King’s Cross Station in 2008, flown to Chicago to see Harry Potter: The Exhibition in 2009, been to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando last year, and scored an early invite (and got sorted) into Pottermore this year. Yes, I’m a Harry Potter nerd. I’m a PROUD Potterhead!

Sherlock

Sherlock Holmes is a great man. And I think one day--if we’re very, very lucky--he might even be a good one.

EB recommended I watch Sherlock, BBC’s modern adaptation of Sherlock Holmes. I added it to my Netflix queue awhile ago and it finally came up. The first series (or season, depending on where you’re from) has 3 90-minute episodes.

The shooting style is very visually appealing and the London backdrop is beautiful! (I miss London so much!) I love the chemistry between Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays Sherlock Holmes, and Martin Freeman, as Dr John Watson. Their introductory awkwardness is too cute. As the show progresses, you can see that the two are made for each other and complement each other very well.  Continue reading

Big English breakfast

My mom ordered a regular breakfast, my dad ordered a medium, and I ordered a LARGE. Yes, I was very hungry. It was a long flight from Abu Dhabi to London!
