I’ve been a member of Birchbox since last year, but have never written a post about it, so here goes…

I got box 39 this month, and was a bit disappointed in getting hair samples again. I am very iffy about trying anything for my hair since most of the products aren’t targeted specifically for my hair type. This specific sample is for fine hair, which I do not have. I have thick straight hair that suffers from frizziness during humidity. Plus, I already received shampoo and conditioner last month
Price: $16 (0.04 oz)
Approx. Sample Price: $12 (0.03 oz)
I like metallics as a color accent, mostly in clothing or accessories, and I’ve never tried it in makeup, so I’m really looking forward to this. I tested it on my hand; the eyeliner glides on smoothly and the color is a rich silver with a lot of shimmer. Should be a great summer color pop.
Price: $16 (3 ml)
Approx. Sample Price: $8 (1.5 ml)
This lip gloss isn’t as sheer as I thought it would be. It has a weird sheen that makes my lips look like I’m wearing pearly nail polish on them. The gloss also highlights the ridges on my lips and makes it look like my lips are super cracked. Not a good look O_o
Price: $28.45 (6.7 oz)
Approx. Sample Price: $4.25 (1 oz)
The lotion scent reminds me a little bit of my mom’s favorite Jergens body lotion. The lotion feels like it would be oily, but it absorbs well into the skin. I’ve only tested it on my hand so far, but my hand feels smooth and the scent is light.
Price: $48 (18 fl oz)
Approx. Sample Price: $0.91 (0.34 fl oz)
I haven’t had the chance to test this one yet, as I still have the sunscreen from last month’s box. I always make sure I wear sunscreen on my face everyday, even during wintertime. When I was in college during May Day, I saw a picture of myself with how much existing sun damage I had, and how much I’d have in 10 years if I didn’t start using sun protection. Who wants premature aging?! It definitely scared me enough to start wearing moisturizer with SPF everyday! Hahaha
