On a weight loss journey

I used to go to the gym regularly – almost 2-3 times per week. I would wake up around 4.45 AM to get ready for the gym, and then spend 30-45 minutes circuit training. I never looked forward to it, but I knew I needed to do it to keep up with my eating. After a very cold and long winter, I gave up on the gym. I just couldn’t motivate myself to wake up that early to go to the gym anymore. And, then came on the weight Now, I had to figure out to lose two years worth of inactivity.

I knew I hated working out and dieting, so I needed to find another way. In April, after years of price-watching Fitbit on my Amazon Wish List, I finally bit the bullet and bought a Fitbit One. Because Fitbit’s food database wasn’t very big, I signed up for MyFitnessPal, too, and synced it with my Fitbit. I knew that it would eventually become a lifestyle change, so I started out slowly. I started out with a weight loss goal of 0.5 lbs per week and a goal to lose 15 lbs. Continue reading

Why I keep a gratitude journal

Sometimes, if not most of the time, the negative aspects of life often overshadows the good things. One small bad thing could ruin a fantastic day. Hopefully, keeping a gratitude journal will instill more positivity in my life and teach me to always look for something to be grateful for no matter how bad the day, week, or month, etc., is. Plus, it’s nice to recall all the good things that have happened that day. You go to bed grateful and ready to face the next day with a smile.

First Impression: June 2014 Birchbox

This month’s Birchbox theme is “Away We Go” and focuses on travel:

Dust off your suitcase! This is the season for road-tripping, destination-hopping, and, of course, staycation-ing. That’s why we’re bringing you lots of travel-ready samples and on-the-go inspiration this month.

The sneak peek for this month’s box was cute. I was really looking forward to getting Egyptian Magic cream in box; but, of course, I didn’t get it. I got box #2 this month. Anyway, let’s get started… Continue reading

Opinions

You know what I’m getting tired of? When I disagree with people and they don’t let me. Like I’m not entitled to my own opinion, or their opinion must be better than mine so I HAVE to agree. And it’s never on important issues, like civil rights; it’s always on small ones that don’t really matter, like preferring a color over another.

Tarot card reading

I paid $10 for a mini tarot card reading at the mall. The psychic, Elizabeth, asked me to pick six cards from her deck. Based on what I picked:

She said I’ll be getting a raise or promotion this year. She mentioned that I’ve recently been hurt in love, but that he’s not the one for me. I’ve yet to meet the one for me, but I will marry him at 32. We’ll have a daughter. She also said that I’m gonna have a happy life and happy marriage. In my middle ages, I will be happy and satisfied with my accomplishments.
